Meek Mill Says Quentin Miller Slipped Him Drake's "Summer Sixteen" Lyrics

Just when you thought it couldn't get any wilder. You gotta be kidding. Have the tables turned? Meek Mill just responded to all the clamor surrounding his "War Pain" Drake diss, which all-too-coincidentally seemed to address the Drake track that premiered MINUTES earlier, by writing, "The ghost writer told me!" Did Quentin Miller, whose revealed identity started the whole beef in the first place, slip Meek the lyrics of Drake's new single, "Summer Sixteen." Couldn't be...

Drake Goes After Meek Mill, Barack Obama & Tory Lanez On "Summer Sixteen"

R&B Drake took a backseat tonight... Drake took no prisoners on his new single, "Summer Sixteen." No singing, no dancing -- just bitter raps directed at anyone whom he might consider a rival. Of course, that includes Meek Mill, whom he deals with in his opening verse. He reveals that he found out Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj were staying in the Toronto Four Seasons on the night that "Back to Back" dropped, and upon discovering the couple’s whereabouts, Drake and his crew booked a room directly above that of Meek and Nicki, and proceeded to blast "Back to Back" all night long. Funnily enough, Meek referenced the same scenario on a diss track of his own, "War Pain," that he released along with a new EP, 4/4 Part 2, shortly after the premiere of "Summer Sixteen." Head here to get a detailed look at that strange coincidence. He finishes with Meek after rapping, "You don’t have to say it louder n*gga / Trust, we heard you the first time." As far as the most high-profile target on Drake’s new record, that would have to Barack Obama. Hailing from north of the border, Drake obviously didn’t feel any qualms about going after the current U.S. President. "Tell Obama that my verses are like the whips that he in / They bulletproof," raps Drake early on in his opening verse. Why did he deliver shots against the leader of the free world? Because Obama, who has been vocal about his love for Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly, recently voiced his opinion that K-Dot would best Drake in a one-on-one battle. Moving on to his fellow Canadians, Drake raps, "All you boys in the new Toronto want to be me a little." Many took this, and the ensuing lines, to be something off a shot taken at Tory Lanez, whose December mixtape is titled The New Toronto. Lanez may have created tension with Drake when he expressed his dislike of "the 6" as a nickname for Toronto -- one that has, of course, been popularized by the "6 God." To make things even more sensational, Meek Mill called out Drake for hating on his fellow Torontonian on "War Pain": "Tory from the 6, you hatin’ on him, Lord knows!" It might be unfair to call them disses, but Drake also namedrops Jay Z (whose status he says he has achieved), Kanye (whose pool isn't as big as his), and Chris Breezy (to whom he has comparable dance moves). OK, the last one was a little cruel.

Mike Will Made-It Delays “Ransom 2” For A Gucci Mane Feature

Mike Will is waiting on Gucci Mane before he drops the sequel to "Ransom." Unfortunately, Mike Will Made-It’s sequel to Ransom won’t be releasing today as originally planned, but according to his excuse, the setback maybe well worth the wait. Taking to twitter Friday afternoon, the ATL producer revealed that he’s postponing Ransom 2 because he’s waiting on Gucci Mane. Not only is the Trap God set to make a feature, which he needs a couple days to complete, but Mike Will just announced that he’s also hosting the tape now as well. Showing his loyalty, Guwop was the first artist to give Mike Will his shot, so it’s only right he hold off for the man who helped him get to where he's at today.

Kanye West Is Charlamagne's Donkey Of The Day

Charlamagne names Kanye West the "Donkey of the Day" for yesterday's Twitter rant against Wiz Khalifa. After the Twitter mess that ensued yesterday, you knew someone was gonna be hit with Charlamagne's notorious "Donkey of the Day" snub this morning, and that someone was Mr. West. A quick recap what went down: On Tuesday night, Kanye changed his album title from SWISH to WAVES, and Wiz Khalifa thought taking the latter title was disrespectful to the incarcerated Max B, whose legacy is defined by the word "wavy." The next day, after Wiz tweeted about "KK" (Khalifa Kush), Kanye thought shade was being thrown at his wife (Kim Kardashian), and he proceeded to go on a 30-something tweet rant, during which he claimed ownership of Wiz' son with Amber Rose. Unsurprisingly, Kanye is a past Donkey of the Day recipient, and Charlamagne prefaced this morning's edition with a soundbite of 'Ye reacting quite positively to receiving the dishonor. The ultimate offense 'Ye committed yesterday, according to Charlamagne, was his knee-jerk reaction to Wiz tweeting "KK," which sparked the entire rant. "This is the equivalent of sending your mom or your dad abbreviations, and they don't know what the hell you're talking about," said Charlamagne, who believes Kanye took the "L" from that point forward: "This whole rant is null and void because the basis of what set it off is the OG not understanding the young boy's slang." Charlamagne went on to criticize some of the insults Kanye directed at Wiz, including that he got trapped by a stripper, meaning Amber Rose, who also happens to be 'Ye's former girlfriend. Charlamagne feels that if Wiz got trapped by a stripper, then it's fair to say that Kanye "got trapped by an amateur porn star," referring to Kim's infamous sex tape with Ray J. After 'Ye simmered down yesterday, Amber Rose happened to swoop in and grab the last word by calling him a "#FingersInTheBootyAssBitch," an insult Charlamagne thinks Yeezy deserves for starting his entire rant off on a false premise.

Young Thug Says He Recorded 40 Songs With Kanye West

According to Young Thug, he and Kanye West have recorded 40 songs together. Following up his visit at Sway’s Morning Show earlier this week, Young Thug decided to stop by the Power 105 studios and chop it up with queen of NYC airwaves, Angie Martinez, for another rare, but very informative interview. Sitting down for over 30 minutes (with Lyor Cohen by his side), Thugger talked about the Lil Wayne bus shooting (again), beefing with Plies over video of his daughter, upcoming projects, including SS3, an 8-song EP that’s on the way, and more. But what really caught our attention was Thugger’s work with Kanye West, which he couldn’t talk too much about due to papers he signed from ‘Ye, but did announce that they’ve recorded about forty songs together. Yes, 40. “Man there’s like 40 songs. Way more than an album.” “We’ve been working for like three years.” –Thugher says about working with 'Ye

Tyga Says Kanye West Helped Him Squash Beef With Drake

According to Tyga, it was Kanye West who helped him and Drake settle their feud. To promote his newly-released Rawwest Nigga Alive mixtape & its accompanying tour, Tyga made his way by the Real 92.3 studios in LA Tuesday night and sat down for an informative new interview. During the chat, T-Raww decided to open up about the tension between him and Drake. Calling everything “cool” now, Tyga revealed that is was Kanye West who played a part in the two burying the hatchet. He says, “Ain’t no tension…we cool. We on good terms. He [Kanye] put us in a room together when he was doing his fashion show…we gave each other a hug and just chopped it up,” he later added. “If somebody’s not taking anything away from you, your family or from your then you should never have a problem, as a man.”

Young Thug Might Be On Kanye West's "SWISH"

It looks like Young Thug may have made the final cut. Ty Dolla $ign, Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper... Young Thug? The fallout of the release of the SWISH tracklist has produced evidence strongly suggesting that Chance the Rapper will be the next artist to be featured in Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Friday series. The tracklist also caught the attention of Young Thug's go-to music video director Be El Be, who speculated in since-deleted tweets that Thug may have made the album's final cut. "Hold up," he wrote. "Now that I think about it... WE ARE ON THIS... I remember the song title b/c I wrote it down, I think... I have it written down in my phone.. I just know the song wasn't really done. But thug re sang the hook and added a verse." Be El Be did NOT delete his tweet assuring his followers that Thug will respond to rumors that Slime Season 3 is dropping today. Given that Thug wrote "SS3 SOON I PROMISE" two weeks ago, don't be surprised if he establishes a release date.

Z aka Zeus Releases Supreme Being (Ordained 2 Snippet)

Z aka Zeus makes his return with a single for his follow up to his last mix-tape “Ordained”! He makes his latest return with “Supreme Being”! A snippet for the sequel. The track was released on sound cloud, but already proceeds to make a Impact as Z’s brand rises. Representing and displaying his Tennessee roots more specifically (L-Town)!
Ordained was surprisingly a very developed project coming from the local artist; However, his breakout singles, “Powder” & “$wish” guarantee promising music on his follow up “Ordained 2”! We definitely recommend people keeping a eye on this artist as he makes his rise up the ladder!

Young Dro Speaks On His Recent Airport Arrest

Young Dro reveals he had pre existing warrants that led to his arrest in the Atlanta airport. The story of Young Dro's recent arrest is pretty confusing. Yesterday (Jan. 22), Dro was arrested at the Atlanta airport and brought to jail. It was originally thought he was arrested for drugs, as police reported they found a controlled substance on his person. TMZ now reports that said substance was half a pill of Xanax. Dro posted bail this morning, and soon after, he called into TMZ Live to clear up what went down. Speaking with TMZ, Dro explained that he wasn't, in fact, arrested for drugs. Instead, there were preexisting warrants out for his arrest, and the TSA was somehow made aware of this after the rapper had passed through security. Dro wasn't exactly clear about what those warrants were regarding -- "for some tags on some cars that I had got registered back" -- but he said they are being taken care of by his lawyers. "Shout out to Mr. Schwartz," he said before signing off.

Talib Kweli Blasts Iggy Azalea Over Her Response To Macklemore

Talib Kweli was not impressed with Iggy's response to Macklemore's "White Privilege II." Macklemore's latest single, "White Privilege II," has been causing quite a storm on social media. On the track, he namedropped Miley Cyrus, Elvis Presley, and the easiest target of them all: Iggy Azalea. "You're Miley, you're Elvis, you're Iggy Azalea / Fake and so plastic, you've heisted the magic," rapped Macklemore, referring to himself in the second person. Earlier today, when asked if she had heard "White Privilege II," Iggy responded by saying, "he shouldn't have spent the last 3 years having friendly convos and taking pictures together...if those were his feelings." A fan told Iggy "she shouldn't give a fuck" about the song, to which the Australian rapper replied, "trust me, I don't. lol." Those comments have now prompted Talib Kweli to call out Azalea on Twitter. Kweli admitted that he "rooted for Iggy when she first came out," but upon seeing her response to "White Privilege II," he feels justified in saying "Fuck Iggy Azalea."

Young Dro Reportedly Arrested On Drug Charges

Young Dro was reportedly arrested Thursday on drug charges. A day after releasing a new video for his song “Hustle Gang,” ATL rapper Young Dro has reportedly found himself in trouble with the law. According to TMZ, Dro was arrested earlier today (1/21) in Georgia on drug charges for violating the controlled substance act. While it’s unknown what the actual substance was that Dro had, it’s being reported that he will remain in custody until at least tomorrow morning when he has his bond hearing. Hope you weren’t planning on seeing him live tonight in Hollywood.

Kanye West Hits Studio With Swizz Beatz & Kendrick Lamar

Kanye West was posted up in the studio with a couple of G.O.O.D. friends. Last week we received our G.O.O.D. Friday release a tad late, because Kanye West jetted off to Italy for a Yeezy Season 3 fitting. This Friday, though, all signs are pointing to the fact that we should receive our G.O.O.D. Friday record on time, if only because Kanye was hard at work in the studio last night. The rapper took to Twitter to share a photo of Swizz Beatz seated in front of a mic and a laptop, captioning it, "the monster." CyHi The Prynce followed suit with his own share of a studio pic, as did Swizz on Instagram. Oh yeah, Kanye also shared a photo with Kendrick Lamar, citing that Madlib gave them "6 beat CDs."

Lil Wayne & Birdman Spotted In Studio With Yo Gotti

Birdman and Lil Wayne hit the studio together last night. With Birdman and Lil Wayne putting their beef behind them, it was only a matter of time before they hit the studio together. There were rumblings that the two had made up after they celebrated New Year's Eve together, and later, they partied/announced their reconciliation at Club LIV. Next stop, studio. Birdman posted a photo of the two, plus "Down in the DMs" connoisseur, Yo Gotti, in the studio last night. He captioned the photo "studio flow" followed by ample hashtags, notably including #YMCMB4LIFE (and also: #blatt).

DJ Drama Is Adamant He Did Not Leak Drake Reference Track

DJ Drama says he's not the person who leaked the Drake/Quentin Miller reference track. Quentin Miller was thrusted into the rap limelight this past summer, when his name was dragged into the now-infamous Meek Mill and Drake ghostwriting beef. It happened to jump-start his personal rap career, though (perhaps to the ire of those he'd previously been ghostwriting for), and he's since released multiple records. While Drake came out basically unscathed from the rap beef, there was still the matter of Quentin Miller's leaked reference track, however for the most part, that's been pushed to the back of our minds. It was a hot topic for a minute though, with Funk Flex being the one who aired it, but ultimately, fingers pointing to DJ Drama as the leaker. By fingers pointing, I mean DJ Drama's ex-wife. The Gangsta Grillz host has now gone on record to deny leaking Drake's reference track while talking to Elliott Wilson and B. Dot during the RapRadar podcast. "I definitely am not no leaker of no records," he tells them. "The records that I put out, I put out records that people give me blessings to put out. I gotta lay that to rest. None of that shit was from me." He continued to expand, "My thing more than anything in what we've learned from the whole thing is how powerful social media is. It's like The Force. It can be used for the Dark Side or it can be used for the Good Side. With respect to those guys, that's not really my story to tell. They're gonna have to tell that story. They're gonna have to come and say what it was."

Meek Mill Follows Through With Promised Donation To Flint Water Crisis

No word on 50 Cent's donation to Flint. The city of Flint, MI is in the midst of a severe water crisis. Over 90,000 citizens have been exposed containing a toxic waste levels 10 times higher than the EPA limit. President Obama has declared a federal stage of emergency. As the state of Michigan begins its investigation, one out-of-towner is doing his part to assist the recovery process: Meek Mill. According to TMZ, Meek has followed through on his promise to donate $50k to Flint. His money went to the Flint Child and Family Health Development, an organization working to combat the effects of lead poisoning caused by the toxic water. He also donated 60,000 bottles of water to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, and he is reportedly donating his time in schools, homeless shelters, and hospitals around Philadelphia. None of which counts towards his court-ordered community service hours... he's still got that sentencing on February 5th. Good for you, Meek. Meanwhile, 50 Cent is STILL taking shots at Meek on Instagram.

Damn Meek what happen man? You just got confused I understand,💩 Head!! #FRIGO #SMSAUDIO

R. Kelly Says He Doesn't Know Who Dave Chappelle Is

R Kelly is not familiar with "I Want To Piss On You." In a new interview with GQ, R. Kelly touched on his relationship with Aaliyah, said that he sometimes sleeps in the closet, and questioned the veracity of Bill Cosby's accusers claims. The most intriguing detail to emerge from the interview, however, was that Kelly has never heard of Dave Chappelle. Or so he claims. In 2002, Kelly was indicted for allegedly urinating on an underage girl. Chappelle famously mocked Kelly on "Chappelle Show" with a music video for a Kellz-style slow jam "I Want To Piss On You." Kelly's interview with GQ revealed that he is either completely out of touch or still butthurt. Here's the exchange: GQ: Given that a lot of people believe that the video shows you, some of the behaviors on the video have become associated with you, particularly urination as part of sex. Pissing on people. You must have seen that Dave Chappelle skit. Kelly: “No, I haven’t.” GQ: He did several clips on his show. Kelly: “David Chappelle? [as though trying to place the name] David Chappelle? I don’t…” GQ: Chappelle’s Show. Very famous. Kelly: “Okay…comedian?” GQ: Really famous comedian. Kelly: “Okay, a comedian. Okay…go on.” GQ: And acting as you, he did a parody of “Ignition (Remix)” called “Piss on You.” Kelly: “Mmmm.” Artist Recommendation
